As we begin our new year of 2026, we also enter a completely new nine-year cycle according to the art and science of numerology.
2025 was a nine year (adding up the numbers and reducing them to their base number you get “9“) and this year about to begin as I write, results in the number 10 which reduces to 1.
As we wrap up 2025, our nine year, we are energetically coming into a completion of our last 9-year cycle and ready to start again in our new year of 1.
Reflect back, if you would, to 2016.
While it may not be possible for you to remember all the situations, experiences, relationships, thoughts, and feelings of the last nine years, it’s very possible to reflect and simply allow what pops up to do so…
Begin by going to quiet.
When your body is settled, use the breath to begin to quiet the mind and ask the Divine to show you what you need to see when it comes to the last nine years.
Review what is shown to you as best you can from the state of observation rather than the state of judgment. Observation is seeing what is there pure and simple. Reviewing what shows up from judgment is forming an opinion about that observation.
When you review the past nine years from observation, you’ll have a clear picture of what happened without the review being tainted from any egoic (pain body) impressions.

Then, reflect on where you are now.
Are there any relationships or situations that seem to be coming to a natural ending or extension?
Are there new levels of learning, of experiencing, regarding any aspect of your life?
As you take this inventory you may notice major shifts and changes, or subtler aspects of life that are aligning, completing or perhaps just about to begin.
This awareness, is helpful when we choose to lead a spiritually conscious life.
For a conscious life is defined here as one where we move through the 3rd dimensional world, accepting the responsibility of being vibrational beings in physical bodies. Beings who are meant to experience life beyond just the visible. Humans who choose to know and live beyond the third dimensional level. We honor the Divine within, the holy energy of love and we seek to cultivate a deep and active relationship with that aspect of our being.
One of the major principles that I live with as a spiritually conscious woman is that everything in the 3D world has purpose.
Every piece of difficulty and pain, each joy, discovery and adventure is informative to me. I also firmly live by the truth that as my life unfolds my response is always meant to be the frequency of love.
As you take time to allow the Divine to show you what you need to see from 2025 that will serve your journey as you move forward, resist the temptation to judge (form an opinion). Just see it all, as an observation, as if you were simply scanning a newspaper of your past few years.
As each new year begins, many beings enjoy setting intentions for the year ahead…and with our 9-year cycle just now beginning, it’s a wonderful time to set a new intention that serves both the holy and practical entity that you are.
I invite you to set an intention to cultivate the art of being present to the moment you are in.
Being present in the moment is a practical and deeply spiritual skill to cultivate as it speaks to consciously moving through the 3rd dimensional world from the energy of the Divine of who you are.
Being present asks us to not be caught in the many distractions we are offered moment to moment, and instead we are asked to place our attention on each moment as it unfolds.
For some this seems to be an almost impossible task as we are bombarded by so much information and activity. But I discovered years ago how possible the impossible can be.
Many years ago, I was married to my first husband Tom, a talented person who was a musician (a drummer), an artist, a builder, a true renaissance man. We were at a concert in Boston, and in the midst of all the music and the audience and the commotion he leaned over to me and told me that the drummer of the band was completely off on his timing.
I was amazed that in the midst of all of the noise and activity that was going on around us, in the middle of a very loud rock concert, he was able to pinpoint one sound.
He later taught me how to do exactly that. While at first it seemed impossible to distinguish the drum from everything that was happening, in a short amount of time with a great deal of consistent effort, it became quite easy.
It took me many years to realize that what he trained me how to do, was to be present to the moment of the sound of the drum, in the midst of a cacophony, of sound and light and activity.
I remember that as I write to you about being present, because that’s what the practice was, I learned in that moment how to be present, to one very small aspect, in the midst of many very loud and busy moments.
Your life is constantly filled with activity and motion and movement. Your relationships, activities and responsibilities are vast, and the amount of sound and movement that you live in 24/7 can be overwhelming.
Our society is one that values how quickly you move, how much you accomplish, how much you can handle, all at one time. We have picture upon picture TV’s that encourage looking at different visuals and taking in different information all at the same time.
With drive through eateries, you may be on your phone while you’re giving your order, and driving your car. As you exercise with music, you’re moving your body, listening to sounds, noting your thoughts, watching what’s around you -experiencing all of that all at once.
Rarely in your world are you ever focused on one task, one thought, one feeling, one insight, or on only your connection to Source.
In short, we live in a world where multitasking isn’t just requested, it’s demanded, appreciated and rewarded. While doing multiple things can indeed be beneficial, you know the truth that I’ve spoken of many, many times:
“Everything that can heal can harm and everything that can harm can help.”
And so Beloved, as you seek to set an intention for this year coming, for the first of the next nine-year cycle, you might set the intention to learn how to be fully present to the Source within you.
For learning to be present to Source, to sitting in that holy silence, brings incredible peace in the midst of our very, very busy noisy lives.
This may now seem like an impossibility, (which was the way I felt when Tom told me that he was able to teach me how to focus on just the drums within a song.) But with your commitment and action put behind your intention, being present, fully present to Source in each moment is extremely possible.
As with every learned skill in the third dimensional world, it requires clarity, intention, (action in the third dimensional world) and consistency of effort.
The first step you might take is to create space in your world to block out all of the noise and actively choose to connect to the Divine within. This practice is achieved by engaging the breath of life ( breathing in and out through your nose with your lips gently sealed) and keeping your attention on the breath.
Look at your calendar each morning and choose two time periods – one in the late morning and one in the late afternoon – setting your alarm for these two times when you have 10 minutes to breathe.
When your alarm goes off find a place where you’ll have privacy for 10 minutes relax your body, close your eyes, engage the breath long and slow and deep through your nose – in and out – with your attention fully on your breath for 10 minutes.
The breath has been defined as the physical manifestation of the soul, and as you focus your attention on the breath, you’re engaging with your soul level, the highest wisdom within you.
Notice your state – your brain activity, the experience in your body, and your emotional state before you go into this practice and notice each aspect of you when you come out of the practice.
What you see may blow your mind!
For after a short 10 minutes you will notice a difference in your state. If you notice little change – breathe for a longer period of time to allow the thoughts to settle and stop.
This first step toward being in the present moment with Source takes very little time, 20 minutes a day, and the results are huge.
You are choosing to come out of all of the activity and commune with the Divine within…to give yourself peace in the middle of your uber busy world.
You are choosing to honor the holiest aspect within you, the highest wisdom you have.
You are choosing to no longer be an unconscious participant in living a continually noisy and ever increasingly busy world. Instead, you are making a choice that leads you on the path to quiet and calm.
You are choosing a life that rests the body and the brain, and places you into a deeper connection to the holiness of who you are!
Giving yourself the gift of presence is a beautiful, healthy and conscious way to begin the next 9 years!
