I am inspired by every day by people I meet. I don’t need to go to a workshop to learn how to be inspired. I simply keep my awareness in my front pocket. Inspiration is all around me. I am inspired by young people who are filled with ideas and the joy of creating and then act on the belief that they can accomplish exactly what they visualize. I am inspired by visionaries who seek to affect change thru their art and conceive a project that is big, big, big and have the courage and skill and talent and commitment and heart to bring it to completion. I am inspired by slam poets who perform in a style that is perfect for the words that they write. I am inspired by my 2 sons who have each found their dharma early in life and are devoting their time and efforts ...

Contrary to what our egoic minds will tell us, there is great power in pausing, stopping, taking a time out. Not “doing” and allowing the Lifestream to just “be” is restorative, calming, soothing, and centering. After retiring even for a short period of time from our daily chaotic lives, beings have found their creativity heightened, their patience deepened, their hearts opened. How curious then, that we need to make an effort to release ourselves from the ties that bind us to the hamster wheel of life… But we do, we were given the gift of choice and you can choose “being” over “doing”. How will you say YES to the power of the pause? ...

“It is not your BeliefsIt is your behavior that counts. It is not your faithBut your function that count. And it is not your convictionBut your character that counts”Swami Sarvegatananda According to the Swami, it is not what we “say”, it is what we “do” that carries a greater energetic frequency. Our actions, how we walk in the world. You can broadcast spiritual phrases and truths but do you practice them in your every day world? You can proclaim yourself a great spiritual student but is your daily life a reflection of your spiritual values? We become what we practice, what are you practicing today? ...
PERCEPTION: “a way of regarding, understanding, or interpreting something; a mental impression” Some folks would tell you that our world is full of facts. Others would tell you that everything you see is an illusion, as we all have different perceptions so how could anything be any one way? Have you ever been totally certain of a truth only to see it morph into something completely different? At one time people held the belief that the earth was flat, women were inferior to men, and only birds were meant to fly… What perceptions do you hold that need a new view? ...
We all love company. We want to be loved and to love. And to love we think we need others, and sometimes we do… BUT There are times when we are asked to walk alone. To reflect, to ponder, to meditate, to endure, to rectify, to wander, to wonder,to go through the dark night of the soul, to come out the other side. When you are called to walk alone be gentle with you. Walk with an open heart, and a brave soul and compassion for all that you are. ...

How often do you get stuck in your stories, repeating a painful and event or difficult time over and over never manifesting what you so richly deserve because you are too busy repeating past pain?? You know the stories. The one about why you can’t leave a love behind, or the damage that was done to you when you were a child? How about the story where you will never have enough? Enough money, enough things, enough love? Or the story about the world being a terrible place where everyone is unkind and nothing is ever fair. We are all given many experiences that show up as irritations, challenges, and tragedies. We can either create stories to keep these challenges alive or we can move through them. Difficulties are opportunities in disguise. Leave your stories behind by responding from a place of patience, from compassion. Invoke understanding or wisdom and ...
Most of us at one time or another feel compelled to tell people how they should live their lives. Usually it’s because we feel an emotional charge triggered by their actions and we are driven to let them know. Our ego has been challenged because we are “right” and their actions were wrong. Our need to be “right” trumps our innate desire for peace and develops a life of its own. You might find yourself starting your sentences with: “You should have” or “how come you never” or “I told you to.” These are globalized statements that are usually not well received as they reek of your ego speaking, not your inner wisdom. They put others on the defensive and speak loudly of your need to “be right”. If you see yourself here, practice the art of refraining. Choose to not give your opinion. But if the urge is too ...
